Truth From War: Chapter 3

She had fallen asleep upon the two head dragons back once they had started their travels. She still had no idea where they were going or if they even had a destination ahead of them. Rin continued to care for her as they went, making sure her bandages were clean and all else was taken care of. She was now beginning to feel the reality of what has just happened to her and her loneliness was now caving in on her. She had no one else in this world but herself. Her pack was killed and her village was destroyed. If she could locate Koga's tribe they may be able to take her in, but she didn't even know where Koga was. Last she had heard he was traveling the countryside to avenge others who had been killed in a large battle...

"Kita? Are you okay?" Rin asked sweetly. The pain on her face must have been extremely apparent. She wasn't good at hiding her emotions anyways just because she was prone to outburst, but outside she though she felt pretty numb.

"I'm as good as one can be after watching their entire family be destroyed," she spoke almost in a whisper.

"Oh...I understand that...My family was killed by wolves...Though...I don't think it was your family...They were brown." Rin replied softly, showing at such a young age she understood the pain Kita was experiencing. "I would be dead to if Lord Sesshomaru hadn't found me."

"Really? He doesn't really seem like the type to just go around saving people," she said as she nodded toward the handsome dog demon walking in front.

"He really is Good...He just..I'm not sure how to put it. He's strong and proud and he doesn't tend to like it when people betray him or take things from him that he feels belong to him. He acts that way to keep people in place and to make sure people fear him. But he really does have a heart. But I don't think many have seen it. He's after Naraku and his brother Inuyasha." Rin spoke making sure Jakken was still upfront" with Sesshomaru.

"I'll take your word for it, I suppose. Is he a lord of some kind?" Kita questioned.

"I am Lord of the Western Lands," Sesshomaru responded catching the tail end of their conversation. "What I am doing is none of your concern."

"I apologize. I didn't realize that wanting to know who my travel companions were was a crime," she said back trying to mimic his tone. " I guess ill continue to live in ignorance till I heal and can leave you just kill me."

Sesshomaru stopped dead in his tracks, " If you don't wish to stay your free to go on your own. But under Rin's advice, you wouldn't make it. I advise you to mind your own business until your well enough to leave us."

Rin looked at Kita and frowned and mouthed, "I promise he's not this bad all the time." Kita gave Rin a soft smile.

Sesshomaru still wasn't sure he could trust this wolf demon. She was injured so she wasn't a threat at this time. His experience with them in the past had only solidified his feelings about them being even lower than his inconvenient half brother, Inuyasha. He didn't trust her with Rin and once the wolf's strength returned he voice to keep a very close eye on her. He'd almost lost Rin already and he wasn't going to risk it again, not when he could kill the threat before she became one. Even as they traveled his eyes would glance at the stranger traveling with them, only to make sure she wasn't pretending.

Kita was still falling in and out of sleep as they traveled. Wishing she'd known how far they'd come from her mountain. At some point before sunset, she heard Rin say something about arriving and felt her body be moved, by who she wasn't sure. The herbs Rin had given her had helped the pain and helped her sleep. Where ever she was now, it was the most comfortable she had been in a very long time. Soft blankets and a pillow too, she wasn't sure how long she had slept or how many times Rin had come to check on her, but she was thankful she wasn't having to recover alone in a cave.

Finally one morning Rin came in and Kita was fully conscious, sitting up and looking around her at the extravagant room before her and the finely made futon upon which she laid.

"How long have I been sleeping?" She asked a little worried she may have overstayed her welcome.

"It been 3 days," Rin responded as she knelt on the floor and started to take care of things again. "You're healing well too." She smiled brightly. "You might be able to go out on your own in about a week."

"You're really good at this for someone your age," Kita spoke softly.

"Thank you. I have had to learn a lot to take care of Master Jakken. " She laughs a little, he's not as strong as he talks himself up to be.

"He seems annoying." Kita laughed.

"He's just overly loyal to Lord Sesshomaru. and Speaking of, he wants to know if you're strong enough to meet with him. He got word of what happened to your pack and wants to ask you some questions." she looked like she understood that the conversation might be hard to talk about.

" I think I am..." Kita said as she looked down at her hands.

"I also brought you a Kimono, I know its not your furs. But those are being cleaned. So it's all we have." She said with a kind generous voice.

"I'm sure it will be fine. Its something to wear isn't it?" Kita smiled a little brighter then she had before as Rin opened the box for the kimono. "That's beautiful." The kimono was a dark black with pink cherry blossoms covering the stop and falling to the bottom hem with gold embroidery along the arms. "I've never worn something this nice before."

"Can you stand?" Rin asked.

"I can try." Kita took her time and rose to her feet, her side still hurt, but it was bearable. Rin helped her into it and helped cleaned her up a little more.

"You're ready." Rin smiled proud of her work. She had managed to pin back Kita's hair with a beautiful comb as well. "Now ill show you to where Lord Sesshomaru is." Kita nodded as she was lead from her room into the hall where Jakken greeted them with a squawk.

"Lord Sesshomaru doesn't like to be kept waiting!" He screamed in disgust.

"He hasn't been waiting long." Rin retorted as she led Kita down the hall and stopped at a set of big golden doors. "This is his study. He's waiting"

Truth from War: Chapter One

It had been a long time since the white wolf tribe of the northern mountain had faced the trials of an enemy infiltrating their pack. They had lived in peace for about 50 years when a swarm of demons came in and destroyed all that they loved and cherished. Take every single member except one. Just old enough to take her place in the ranks to protect her kind from enemy attackers and one with skill unlike any other. She advanced quickly and climbed her ranks without anyone questioning who she was. Being a pack's youngest daughter could have made her the target for favoritism among the leaders, but she refused to be babied and treated as an elder’s daughter. She wanted to be treated the same as anyone else. Tonight was the night she was able to prove herself in the lines of battle. The only one to have survived the attack and was now running for her life after she watched her father die in her arms and her mother be slashed to pieces by a demon covered in a baboon pelt of white. Truth From War: Chapter 4

Kita entered through the doors and saw him laid out in front of an open door. His kimono was open revealing well-shaped muscles as the newly risen moon shown through and made his features more defined. "You summoned me?" she approached only as close as she dared too and kneeled down.  Lord Sesshomaru was quiet for a long while and the silence was starting to drive Kita insane.  "I remember you," he said tonelessly.  "Excuse me?" Kita questioned not knowing what he was talking about.  "You're the Elder's youngest daughter." He spoke just loud enough to hear. "Yes..." she responded, wondering how he knew. "My father had an agreement with your pack before he died and it continued with me before they were destroyed. I was the one your pack had been paying tribute to all these years since his death, so your pack could live in my territory in peace. We met twice when we were young." he continued as he looked out the open doo...
